The system originated in India, but it spans different cultures and geographical locations. However, every culture has developed its own interpretation of the chakra system as well as its own way of using it to heal.
Overall, the chakra system has been around for many centuries and has even been attributed to be used by ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, Maya, Aztecs and Incas.
However, the first use of the chakra system was during the Vedic period that started about 1700 – 1500 years BC.
In this article, I will be talking about where the chakra system’s idea originated from?
Where did it get its inspiration from? And its evolution from one continent to another until it reached us today.
What Is The Chakra System?
The chakra system is an ancient Hindu belief that states that the body and mind are connected by energy channels or pathways within us.
These energy channels are known as chakras. These chakras are what keep us alive, and well. They circulate our life force of energy (known as ““rana”” throughout our physical bodies.
When the chakra is in balance, we are able to function properly and live a healthy life. However, when one or more of our chakras become blocked or unbalanced, it can lead to illness and disease.
In addition, chakras that are out of balance can also cause mental and emotional issues such as depression and anxiety.
There are seven main chakras running along the spine from the crown of your head to the base of your spine, each one corresponds with a particular part of your body:-
Root (Muladhara), Sacral (Svadhisthana), Solar Plexus (Svadhisthana) Heart (Anahata), Throat (Vishuddha), Third Eye (Vishuddha) and Crown (Vishuddha)
Each chakra has its own vibrational frequency, colour association, governing element and more. These seven main energy centres begin at the base of your spine and travel upwards to the top of your head.

The History Of The Chakra System
The chakra system was part of a tradition of spiritual practices that included yoga and meditation. It is thought that the chakra system was developed from ancient Hindu beliefs about the natural world and its elements.
The word chakra comes from the Sanskrit word meaning wheel or disk. Although it has its origins in ancient Indian traditions, chakras were not a major concept in yogic thought until the early 1900s.
They were introduced to a western audience by an Indian monk named Paramahansa Yogananda in his book Autobiography of a Yogi, which he wrote in 1946.
Today, the chakra system is widely accepted as an energy-based healing system that focuses on balancing and healing different parts of our body.
The belief is that each chakra corresponds to a specific organ or gland within our physical body as well as different aspects of our personality and mental health.
Kundalini Yoga Practices
Kundalini yoga is a form of yoga that emphasizes the release of kundalini energy. This energy is said to be stored at the base of the spine and can be released through breathing exercises, poses, and meditation.
When this energy is awakened and rises up, it’s believed to improve spiritual awareness and physical health.
The Seven Chakra System
Chakras are energy centres in the body that works in conjunction with your physical body and consciousness.
Each chakra is located at the junction of two important nadis -the Ida and Pingala- which are channels for prana (life force).
There are seven main chakras located along the spine from its base to the crown of the head. Each chakra has different functions, colours, and characteristics that help us understand our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual states of being.
It is believed that Kundalini Yoga is a great practice for unblocking and activating the Chakra thus promoting the release of the Prana Energy contained in each of these Omnipotent Energy Centers.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the chakra system is an important concept in Eastern culture and is directly related to how well we live our lives. If we live life in a way that keeps our chakras unblocked, we will be happy and healthy. And if the chakras become blocked, we can use certain methods to unblock them.
When the Chakras are balanced, we feel more at home in our own bodies. When this happens, we feel a deep connection to ourselves and the world around us.
As a result, we are able to enjoy life more fully, without being distracted by physical stress or physical discomfort.
Tap into the amazing knowledge of the Chakra System and ensure that you promote the inhibited flow of Universal Life-force Energy in your Body Temple.
