The Wonders Of Meditation

Meditation has grown in popularity over recent years, with many people speaking of the Amazing benefits this ancient little Gem is bringing to their lives. So I have put together these 10 Easy Steps to Help You Create A Beautiful Meditation Space.

There have been many studies carried out, that show the benefits of meditation. It has been proven to:

Reduce Stress and Anxiety

Lower Blood Pressure

Increase Focus

In a 2011 study, a team led by Harvard-affiliated researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) showed that after participants took part in an 8-week meditation program, the Grey Matter in their brains 🧠 Increased. Grey Matter a mass of Neuronal Cells within the brain, is directly responsible for Muscle Function, Seeing, Hearing, Memory, Learning, Emotional Regulation, and Speach.

No wonder meditation is growing in popularity with more and more people beginning to practice this amazing little art.

So the Dye is cast, you are now a member of the elite, a modern-day voyager of the Mind. You have a routine in place, 10 – 15 minutes set aside every day, before opening up the emails, signing into social media, or switching on the TV. You have made a Conscious decision to Meditate 👍 every day, to step away from the norm and discover something new.

Step 1. Get your Sage on!

The practice of burning 🔥 Sage or smuggling is an Ancient Spiritual Ritual popularised by Native Americans who have been using sage for centuries to cleanse personal spaces and dissipate negative energy. Now, you do not need to do this every time you meditate; however, using Sage within your space is amazing! I Love,💕 love,💕 Love 💕 using sage or Palo Santo Wood to cleanse my space of negative energy.

Palo Santo Wood or Holy Wood, as some refer to it. Comes from the Palo Santo Tree. When burnt, it gives off a lovely aroma with sweet notes of lemon, pine and mint. It is said to have Therapeutic, Healing, and Spiritual properties. Palo Santo Wood has been used by Saints and Sharmans for centuries.

Give that space a cleanse baby!

Open your window, select your chosen tool and walk around your home, covering the corners of each room. Chanting positive and loving affirmations is also a great way to Create a Beautiful Meditation Space.

Step 2. Crystals

Crystals 🔮 , an established batch of Molecules and Atoms that look beautiful and some, namely Quartz, were also used in radios to transmit Frequencies. I find that, if I am in tune with them, they create a subtle frequency that compliments the energies being worked with whilst meditating. I have Crystals all over my house and find them very beneficial to my practice. If you have not experienced crystals, I would advise you to visit a Metaphysical Store with an open mind and go and experience the wonderful world of crystals.

Some of my favourites are Amethyst, Lapis Lazuli, Quartz, Selenite, Labradorite and Hawks Eye, to name but a few, all of which are amazing once you start to work with them.

Step 2. Do Not Disturb

How do you create a Beautiful Meditation Space? Simplicity is the key; the main aim of meditation is to clear the mind and experience the amazing power of stillness and tranquillity. However, that’s easier said than done as the monkey mind is a very hard thing to tame. Check out this related article 5 Steps to Detox Your Monkey Mind.

With that in mind, it is important to select a space within your home where you are least likely to be disturbed. The last thing you want when you have finally reached the point, you don’t know where it is or what it is, but you just know it it’s there. You can feel it in every cell of your body. You have become one with all that is, and you can feel that divine unity—more than you ever thought possible. You’re about to enter a state of divine ecstasy. Then someone pulls you right out of it 🤷🏽‍♀️ It can be very frustrating, so chose your spot wisely!

Step 3. Find Your Comfort Zone

Many people complicate the concept of meditation, and you do not need to sit in the Full Lotus to meditate. I spent years practising like this even though I couldn’t commit to the Full Lotus as it would mean a session of agony and pain. I would sit in the Half Lotus. I no longer put that pressure on myself. I simply sit in a comfortable crossed legged position. If you are comfy sat up on a chair, that’s fine. If you prefer to be laid on your back, that’s fine. Meditation is truly about finding comfort within your being in a way that works for you; keep it simple and straight forward.

Step 4. Posture

If you are sat in an upright position, your spine’s alignment is important firstly; if you sit slumped, it will harm your body. Which over time could cause issues? If you sit in a chair, use something to support your spine’s base, this will also help with the flow of Energy. Those who are more accomplished meditators will understand what I mean. It is subtle at first, but the more you meditate, the more you will tap into the ever-present energy. Having a straight spine also allows energy to flow through the Chakras unobstructed.

As I prefer the crossed leg position, I also prefer to use a meditation cushion they come in a variety of styles and I highly recommend them.

5. Lights

Lighting is a variable that can affect how you meditate. For me, it varies if the sun is shining, then the rays on my face helps me focus my attention on one thing, thus helping settle my thoughts. However, there are other times when I may decide to incorporate a sleeping mask if necessary. Light can be a hindrance or help Meditation; it is very personal to the individual so Go With Your Flow.

6. It’s your space. Own it.

Make it a sacred space! Use pictures, your favourite crystals, incorporate a small table, decorate it with flowers, a small Buddha for inspiration, A vision Board. Use Affirmations or Essential oils in your favourite diffuser. Some amazing essential oils can be used to help Create A Beautiful Meditation Space, such as Frankincense, termed the king of essential oils, is also revered for its ability to invoke inner calm!

7. Journal

Meditation is an amazing experience that can open the door to higher states of consciousness. Be that through the Subconscious or the Superconscious Mind. I find that I receive downloads, snippets of information or even inspiration when in a deep meditation state. When this happens, I like to have a journal at hand to take notes, and the journal can be physical or digital, you decide! I use a free app called Day One. For me, it works great and comes in handy for all Occasions. Having it on my phone also means it is convenient.

My earliest experience of one of those incredible and powerful downloads was a few years ago. I was sat in quite a deep state of meditation. I experience a dialogue with what I have grown to call my inner guide. The inner guide explained that I must shift my energetic state from Particle to Wave when in a state of meditation. That little snippet of information has been of incalculable value to me and my practice. It created a shift within my being and an energetic anchor point that is always available.

8. The Life-Changing Magic Of Tidying

Of the 10 Easy Steps To Create A Beautiful Meditation Space, this has to be one of the most important. Keep your sacred space clean and clutter-free. Clutter creates stagnant energy; this is the polar opposite of the energy you want to be working with when meditating. Clearing your space of clutter is, therefore, of paramount importance. It helps set the mood and create a state of inner calm; achieving this will prove difficult if your surroundings are cluttered and unorganised.

9. Let it flow!

Air is equally important; everything is energy, so you must encourage the flow. Open a window and allow the life-giving energy to flow freely around you! If the months are cold, keep yourself snug in a blanket. Airflow is important to any space, so let it flow!

10. Cut The Cord

Meditation is your time, a time to really look within and explore the inner workings of your being. The secret lies within the stillness; in that moment of self-realisation, you will come to understand yourself as being one with the unified field, the Omnipotent Omnipresent energy that makes every one of us. To gain an awareness of the very subtle changes in the frequency of your being,” You Must” Be still and silence the mind. To achieve this, you must remain undisturbed. It is of paramount importance that the time allocated for your practice is a time also allocated to being cut off from technology or anything else that can affect your delicious moments of Zen!

I hope these 10 Steps Help You Create A Beautiful Meditation Space worthy of your precious time. There is no hard and fast rule to say just how long you must meditate. I always say two minutes is better than zero minutes. In the hectic world we live in, every one of us deserves that special little place where we can go to find peace within the stillness! It may seem hard to find the time to sit and clear your mind but remember. Repetition is the Father of Learning.

And……..

The Only Limitation is Your Mind!
