So let’s dive straight in. 

What are crystals and what do they do?

Crystals are naturally occurring mineral deposits that have been shaped by nature. There are many different types of crystals, from healing stones to gems. Their beauty and variety are what make them so special.

Crystals have been used for centuries to promote good health and improve mood, among many other things. In fact, over the last few years, there’s been a greater focus on the physical and mental benefits of crystals. 

They can be considered a natural supplement for improving your wellbeing in this sense.

Crystals can be used in many ways, including 

Crystal Cleanse; 

This involves placing your crystals in a glass of warm water with lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to help cleanse them before using them as an energy healer or doing crystal bath rituals.

Crystal Cleanse

The good news is you don’t need to spend a lot of money on crystals to reap their benefits; one thing you do need is the correct type of environment and mindset if you want to get the most out of your crystals’ abilities.

The Benefits of Crystals

There are many benefits to using crystals, including their ability to promote mental health and physical wellbeing.

It’s essential to recognize that the way in which you use crystals is not always going to be the same. For example, one person might place them on a shelf for spiritual Energy and meditation; another may use them solely for Energy Healing – in a way that benefits their own energy. Some use them as means to raise the vibration of a space, to remove both negative energies and unwanted energy.

The different ways in which you can use your crystals will depend on your personal needs, lifestyle, and goals. However, the important thing to remember is, whether it is a placebo or not, people report profound benefits from having Crystals on them or in and around their homes. 

Those benefits include improvements to health, mood, energy, wealth, and general wellbeing. 

How to Cleanse Your Crystals

Now that you know what crystals can do for you, it’s time to learn how to cleanse your crystals. There are a few different ways to cleanse your crystals, but they all share one thing in common: they remove negative Energy from the Crystal’s aura.

1. Sage or Smudge Stick  – This is a great option for cleansing your crystals – I usually incorporate this with a full house cleanse but you can do your crystals individually. Rember everything is Energy so it is very important to ensure that whenever you’re cleansing your crystals you mentally or verbally run through what you want from a specific piece. Simply place the sage under the Crystal and allow the gentle smoke to permeate all areas of the stone. Where you have a large Geode or are unable to lift for any specific reason simply move the sage smoke around the Crystal with a Hign Vibrational intent, this encourages the movement of new energy.
2. Palo Santo – This is by far my favourite way of cleansing my Crystals – I find the scent and Energy of Palo Santo to be so high vibrational. This can be used in the same way as Sage. Palo Santo does not create anywhere near the level of smoke that sage does. So if you find sage overpowering Palo Santo is the option to go for, I find it a fantastic way to charge crystals and raise the stone’s vibrations.
3. Running water – This is a great and simple way to cleanse your Crystal but make sure, you are aware of what Crystals are safe in water as a common Crystal-like a piece of selenite should never be placed in water, it also happens to be self-cleansing so do your homework first. 
4. Salt water – A superior option to tap water. Sea water is charged with the high vibrational frequency of Mother Earth, making it a fantastic option for a good old Crystal Cleanse to remove unwanted energies from your crystals. Please note distilled water is also a superior cleansing option to tap water due to its natural purity.
5. Light of the Full Moon – The light of the moon is an extremely powerful and one of the common methods for cleansing crystals. Simply place them out on a full moon it is a great way to cleanse, charge, and amplify your manifestation or Intention for a particular Crystal. So give it a try if you haven’t already on the next full moon.
6. Salt – Dry salt, such as sea salt or table salt can be a great option for removing negative energy from your crystal. Simply place them in a bowl of salt and leave them for at least one hour to help remove any low Vibrational Energy they may have picked up. 
7. Sunlight – Like the Moon and the Sea, Sunlight is a great way to charge your Crystals many of my pieces are placed on window ledges. I find this coupled with the sun amplifies their Energy. Be mindful do not place your beautiful deep purple piece of Amethyst in direct sunlight or it will fade. 
8. Singing Bowl – Sound vibration is a powerful way to cleanse your crystals I also find it an effective way as I feel a tangible shift in energy on a regular basis when I use this method, it really does promote good vibes in the easiest way. This makes it a win-win in my books a tuning fork could possibly achieve a similar outcome. However, I believe a signing bowl to be one of the more popular choices.

All of the above are great ways to cleanse your Crystals – However, it is essential to cleanse and reprogram at the same time. Set your intention, let it be known, what you are open to Energectically. and Keep the Energy Positive.

How To program Your Crystals

So you have just got home with your Crystal, now what do you do? 

First, follow any method of cleansing outlined above. It is very important that you cleanse your Crystal when you get home. Simply because Crystals are Energy magnets 🧲 and that baby will have picked up all sorts of possibly bad energy from its previous environment. 

Generally, depending on the Crystal, this will vary based on the size and type, but typically. I will place the Crystal under lukewarm water, give it a loving and nurturing clean then welcome it into my space. 

I will say (and don’t judge these are living beings have some respect 😌)

• My name is Matthew and I welcome you into my home. 
• I would like to work with you on an Energetic Level and raise the vibration of this space. 
• In The Frequency of Love, Health and Happiness. 
• I welcome you to my space and I am honoured to be working, and living with you. 

I do this with every Crystal I get, but I can get more specific when programming certain pieces again based on the Crystal. For example, with Amethyst. I would invite it to work with me on a deep spiritual level. 

To help me activate my third eye and connect with the Highest Frequency of my Being. 

Or, for instance, if it’s a piece of Celestite (This is an example of another Crystal that you would not use water to cleanse) I would program this in the frequency of Angelic work to help me connect with My Angelic Guardians and Guides within my Meditation sessions. 

This is an extremely High Vibrational Stone and helps you attune with the Divine and Angelic realms so I would set the intention for that work. 

This is super important, but try to let your intuition guide you when programming your stones. 

How To Charge Your Crystals With Intention.

Okay, we now have a clear understanding of cleansing your Crystals, Programming them. How do you charge them with intention? So this is where we begin to delve into the realm of Lightwork at its most basic but still very powerful level. 

Either hold the Crystal or lay your hands on it. I want you to tap into the emotion of uniting with the Vibration and Frequency of the Crystal. Then gently blow on the Crystal to tangibly transfer that Energy across. 

When you blow, visualize a bright white light. Now close your eyes and visualize a brilliant and powerful light engulfing your Crystal, permeating every molecule of its structure. 

This light could be Golden or use the colour of the specific Crystal. 

Your Energy must be of the highest frequency, this is true lightwork, and you are simply working with the Energies of the Universe.

How to Use Your Crystals

In a bid to help you understand how to cleanse and use your crystals:- It’s essential to understand that Crystals can be used in many different ways, such as but not limited to:- 

• Carrying Or Wearing your Crystals: Keeping a specific Crystal on or close to the skin allows for a better connection. 
• Crystal bath: Bathing in water with minerals dissolved into it can improve your well-being – Mind, Body, Spirit. Energies that water and the Crystal by Visualising the glowing white light.
• Harnessing energy from crystals: Crystals absorb certain frequencies that can be used for spiritual purposes or healing purposes.
• Place in your bedroom or different areas of the house: Such as Black Tourmaline close to the entrance to your home to help protect from negative energy. Or Amethyst and Rose Quartz in your bedroom to enhance the frequencies of Spirituality and Love. 
• Crystal Elixir: I place a Crystal such as clear Quartz in my drinking bottle to energies the water molecules and enhance the power of my water-based on my intention for that particular day. Using the Lightwork method is great for this. 
• Tune In To the Frequency: Tap into the Energetic Frequency of your Crystals at any time. I love grounding myself and connecting to the collective Energy of my stones. 
• Energy Healing: Crystals can be used to amplify healing energy.
• Meditation: Crystals are great when used in conjunction with.your Meditation practice. 
• Grounding In The Present Moment – I carry three small Hematite cubes from time to time and use them to anchor me in the present moment. With their Magnetic 🧲 energy they also remind me that like Energy Attracts Like. So I only associate myself with thoughts and feelings that represent what I would like to experience in my reality.
